National Radioactive Source Security Awareness Seminar

The Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) will organize the National Radioactive Source Security Awareness Seminar on 30 June 2008 at the Auditorium, AELB.

Recognizing the need to be proactive in chartering or recommending the way forward in crucial areas that would contribute to the advancement of radioactive application, AELB is now addressing the significance of incorporating security elements in promoting the peaceful application of radioactive sources in Malaysia.

 

With this mind, the seminar is organized with the following objectives:

 

i. To promote a better informed society through sharing of correct and factual information and efforts to ensure the security of radioactive sources

ii. To build a higher level of self-compliance and security culture among the users of radiation technology in Malaysia.

iii. To enhance the competency and capability of the licensee in addressing security issues at their respective premises

iv. To increase the awareness and understanding on the new control mechanism to secure radiation application so that it is utilized for peaceful purposes only.

 

The Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) wishes to request for YBhg. Tan Sri/  Dato’/Dr./Tuan/Puan support and commitment to nominate a key person from the upper management, Heads of Department and middle management [Person Responsible For the License (OBTL)] and a Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) from YBhg. Tan Sri/ Dato’/Dr./Tuan/Puan organization’s to participate in. A nominal registration fee of RM 150.00 according to the session selected per person would be charged per participant. These fees are inclusive of certificate of attendance applicable as refresher certification, a Managing Radiation Safety book, seminar material, lunch and 2 coffee breaks.
